Norfolk Wild Nights aims to introduce the creatures that are active at night in Norfolk, UK to everyone!
Species like this:
Cerura vinula is the puss moth and is a large species (7cm long) that lives across Norfolk in wet woodland and fen, wherever willows thrive as willow is one of the larval food plants. If you want to see a puss moth then you will need to search willow leaves in May and June, or put out a light trap in some good habitat as we did in 2011 to find the individual pictured (and the group avatar). The larvae are amazing and amongst the most striking of moth larvae to be found in the UK.
